First Congregational Church, Tacoma, WA

If you have any questions about the Akron-Auditorium plan, this interior view of the former First Congregational Church in Tacoma, Washington should resolve them. The exterior gives little indication of what you will find through either of the two tower entrances (the darkened doorways on the far left and right). Entering either presents two choices: straight ahead into the Sunday School area, or a 90-degree turn into the sanctuary.

First Congregational built this in 1907-1908 from the design of architect George W. Bullard, about whom I know nothing. The congregation elected to disband in 2012 and their building has been recently acquired by Mars Hill Church, a mega-church with branches throughout the Pacific Northwest.
