Methodist Episcopal Church, Red Bank, NJ

December 14, 2013

For my last harangue of the day, I offer the Methodist Episcopal church at Red Bank, New Jersey.

Again, I know little about it (yet) but am charmed by its L-shape and octagonal tower at the re-entrant corner. This simple shape was incredibly popular among Methodists, especially here on the Great Plains where rudimentary churches of this sort were quick to build and cheap to fund. One leg of the “L” or the other must have been used for religious education.
