First Baptist Church, Albuquerque, NM

I have serious doubt that First Baptist in Albuquerque is an A-A church. The style suggests a construction date too late for the Akron Sunday School to have been popular, But there is also something seriously interesting going on here: I can imagine an interior arrangement that is anything but orthodox. Even Roger Williams would approve.

The congregation must have fled to the suburbs (google maps shows it far removed from the CBD) and according to a recent news article the building sat vacant for several years. The University of New Mexico considered conversion into a business incubator, which also fits nicely into the Social Gospel paradigm.
