The geographic distribution of A-A churches is astounding. I have examples in all fifty states and the District, plus five Canadian provinces. But my posts here may have given the impression that this is a phenomenon principally in communities of small and moderate size. Lest you have that misconception, here is an example from New York City: Fifteenth Street Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York.

Architects Ackerman & Partridge are new to me. But this very sophisticated Neo-Classical design is an exemplary D-1 type. Tragically, it is no longer standing. Some internet sleuthing reveals an exceptional program of extended programs which might qualify it as a true Institutional Church.
