Methodist Episcopal Church, Glen Rose, TX

September 18, 2014

The architectural style of Glen Rose’s M.E. church is hard to pin down. The squarish sanctuary, however, and what I presume to be triplets of clerestory windows paired at the four corners portend a nifty sanctuary. I have a suspicion this building was replaced long ago with some more utilitarian and shoe-box-like. If it weren’t for the caption scrawled in white across the bottom of the image, this could as easily have been a public library or ladies’ literary society.

UPDATE (22.12.2016): This is another of the C. W. Bulger churches illustrated in The National Builder of May 1922.
