St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Millville, NJ

October 1, 2014

Still standing at the northeast corner of Third and Mulberry, St Paul’s Lutheran is a rare example of an A-A church in that denomination. Lutheran’s, of course, come in all sorts of synods, many of them here in the Midwest ethnically and, therefore, language based. McIntosh, Minnesota, for example, has five Lutheran churches at last count, serving a population of about 625. Akron-Auditorium churches are about as scarce in Lutheranism as they are among Episcopalians.

The church website says this building was enlarged in 1906, which seems about right for the style of both the building and this postcard view.
