Fourth Avenue Methodist Episcopal Church, Brooklyn, NY

October 21, 2014

Brooklyn’s Fourth Avenue M.E. Church was designed (I think) by architect George Washington Kramer, one of the most prolific designers of A-A churches. I thought I’d posted something on this building before; sorry for the oversight. If memory serves, this is a D-1 type, with the pulpit diagonally opposite the corner entry and aSunday School accessible through a movable wall to the pulpit’s left.

Kramer was originally from Akron, Ohio, where he had been involved with the first Akron Plan Sunday School. Kramer’s obituary claimed the he had designed more than 1,200 churches.
