First Methodist Church, Olney, IL

March 25, 2015

At the corner of Fair and Elm streets in downstate Olney, Illinois stands First Methodist Church, an excellent example of the A-A type, though google streetview doesn’t show as much contrast in the masonry. From the air, however, its Akron Sunday School is very clear on the far left (western) side of the building.

UPDATE (2016/10/15): This color postcard, probably from the 1950s, is rare in my experience. Views of this vintage don’t show up in online auctions very often. Happily, it confirms any suspicions about the A-A configuration: the angle is practically identical in each image and reveals a genuine D-2 type.
