Presbyterian Church, Madera, CA

May 29, 2015

Formerly a Presbyterian church, this well-maintained Churrigueresque building now serves as an Elks Lodge. This RPPC view shows it from the Sunday School side, rather than the original street corner entrance, which has now been modified with ramps.

Aerial views confirm the polygonal shape of a typical Auditorium Plan and the placement of the large entry tower at the seam hints at an equally typical Akron Sunday School. Who knows how this has been adapted to the needs of a fraternal organization.
