Presbyterian Church, Pratt, KS

From its corner position at Ninnescah and East First street, the Presbyterian church at Pratt, Kansas seems to be a simple case of the Richardsonian Romanesque hybridized with elements of the Gothic Revival. Look again from farther down the street (to the right) and the story becomes more interesting from my perspective: Hard to believe they are the same building.

The aerial view makes the point even more strongly. It’s a genuine joy to find such a fine example so well maintained.

According to the congregation’s web site, the building was completed and dedicated in 1913, but I haven’t found any record of the name of the architect.
