Unknown Methodist Episcopal Church

It’s the nature of “real photo” postcards that they are not always published. That is, they may have been commercially reproduced, but they might just as often have been produced locally and in very small numbers; that is often reflected in their pricing at auction.

Another problem is represented by this postcard of a Methodist Episcopal church: the location is given in faint white letters just below the “curb” line but it is unreadable. Oddly, the plaque on the building itself (just left of the tree by the front entry) can be read quite clearly: it clearly reads “Methodist Episcopal Church” and even the name of the pastor “E. C. Dunn” can be read. But, despite high DPI scanning and tweaking in photoshop, I’ve been unable to see anything but “B—water, S-.” There appears not to be a town with a name like that in South Dakota and a google.image search comes up empty. Perhaps I should send it to the FBI.
