Kansas architect Don Schuler came to Wichita to supervise construction of Frank Lloyd Wright’s home for the Allen family, what is arguably the last “Prairie School” house. When the house was complete, Schuler stayed and opened his own architectural practice. Wright’s influence is apparent in all aspects of Stafford’s Methodist church, especially in the Unity Temple-inspired auditorium.

Unfortunately, the National Register nomination for the church is difficult to interpret concerning the interior arrangement, especially the Sunday School spaces.
