Southside Christian Church, Tuscola, IL

April 5, 2016

As an Illini, downstate remains a mystery.

Tuscola’s Southside Christian Church at Court and Houghton streets was built in 1892 (according to Wikimedia) but has fallen on hard times, as this more recent photograph shows. The congregation has moved to the southern edge of town (pop 4,000-plus) and left its former home behind. Google.maps says it’s still there.

Is this a metaphor for something?
