Methodist Episcopal Church (UMC), Glendora, CA

July 5, 2016

CAglendoraME

A Gothic Revival design from 1913-1914 (architect unidentified, as yet), this building still stands in Glendora, California at the corner of Bennett and Vista Bonita avenues. The corner entry and book-matched street elevations suggest a diagonal auditorium, while a secondary entrance (on the far right) might have accessed an orthodox education wing — except for the photo below: behind the Bel Canto Singers performing in the auditorium there is an obvious movable partition precisely where we’d expect it to be.
