Methodist Church, Wabash, IN

July 24, 2016

More than triple its original size (shown here), the original First M.E. church still commands the corner of Cass and Sinclair streets. The polygonal corner and the lantern centered over the auditorium are trademarks of Brown & Davis (or Brown, Burton & Davis), who proliferated this design multiple times during the early years of the 20th century. The somber sepia-grey stone suggested here in a period real photo postcard is actually a very light grey Indiana  limestone.
