Lutheran Church, Canton, SD

August 6, 2016

It is always surprising to find an A-A church at the liturgical end of the spectrum. Roman Catholics, Episcopalians, and most Lutherans avoided the A-A, perhaps from the liturgical point of view. So this view of Canton, South Dakota’s Lutheran church comes as a surprise.

Another surprise was the google street view of the building: FAR more handsome than is suggested by this crude representation. The building is constructed of red sandstone or quartzite typical of southeastern South Dakota. The aerial view also confirms that around the right hand corner there is the telltale bulge of an Akron Sunday School.
