A Church, Hopkinton, IA (maybe Methodist; maybe Presbyterian)

The triangular site is bounded by Fourth, Church and Culver, though the church itself may no longer be active. Google.maps identifies it as Methodist.


From the air, the building has a characteristic C-1 plan but time will tell. But my curiosity got the better of me and I discovered that Hopkinton was the site of a Presbyterian college until 1940, which is now identified as the Delaware county Historical Museum. Clicking on that takes you to a series of photos, one of which is the interior of an Akron Plan church looking very much like this postcard of a Presbyterian church, which in turn begins to resemble the one called “Methodist” in the aerial. Are you confused? I know I am.
