Baptist Church, Springfield, MA

August 25, 2016

I like this building almost as much as I do the Congregational church in Derby, Connecticut, perhaps because the hand-colored quality of the postcards. This was built about 1888 but gone shortly after 1930. Built by Baptists, it was subsequently occupied by Universalists, precursor of the U-U merger. I found another even more impressive view, making it appear a much more substantial building in the cityscape.
