First Baptist Church, Dublin, GA

October 5, 2016

In many, many cases, looking for information or even the whereabouts of one church leads inevitably to another. The First Baptist Church in Dublin, Georgia materialized that way, luckily in a postcard view of the architect’s original perspective. With only a few modifications (the tower has single louvered arches on the two street elevations, rather than doubled), the building still serves the original congregation at the corner of Bellevue Avenue and Church Street. From the google street view, the Sunday School peeking out at the right side is, indeed, a full-blown semi-circular Akron type, making this either a D-1 or C-1 example. The date is 1907.
