St Paul Methodist Episcopal Church, Atlanta, GA

Trinity M.E. in central Atlanta was the mother church of at least four other Methodist congregations in the city. Among these was St Paul’s at St Paul Avenue and Grant Street, in the southeast. While the exterior (by an as yet unidentified architect) is remotely Romanesque Revival, the interior is curiously Colonial. I have never seen such a large opening between auditorium and Sunday School; the continuity between them is more direct and open and the division seems almost incidental. The date of construction was 1907.
