Methodist Episcopal Church, Atlantic, IA

Fronting on Poplar at Eighth Street, the UMC in Atlantic, Iowa [about half way between Des Moines and Omaha] looks very much as it did in the postcard view. The two-story Sunday School wing can be seen in the distant left. Given the pure symmetry of the entrance elevation, it suggests a B, C, or D location for the pulpit if there is a movable partition between auditorium and S.S. My guess for date would be circa 1910.

PS (2016.12.29]: From the church’s FaceBook site, this video clearly shows the location of a movable partition (or what may have been one) on the wall to “stage right” of the pulpit — a C-1 configuration.
