Unidentified Church, Walnut, IL

January 5, 2017

Tiny Walnut, Illinois has few churches and most are efficient modern structures with little character (on the outside, at least). This card is currently up for auction, but the seller knows not whether it is a church or a theater. I’m guessing church because of the apparatus on the left: the painted backdrop is probably the River Jordan and in front of it must have been the baptismal tank. I’m interested, however, because of the large panel on the right. Notice the handles for lifting.
