Congregational Church, Worthington, MN

January 9, 2017

OK, now and then I can be overzealous, adding buildings to the database that are unlikely candidates for A-A status. That is probably the case with this charming Congregational church in Worthington, Minnesota. The pure symmetry—corner entry with octagonal tower, book-matched street facades, and inferred octagonal roof over the auditorium (with a small lantern peeking from behind the tower)—tell us there is a small diagonal auditorium within. Where the Sunday School fit is anybody’s guess; probably not the basement. There are, of course, two hidden sides of the building.
