Three in Neoga, IL

The discovery of a possible A-A candidate in one community often leads to others in the vicinity. Searching for a building on google.maps, for example, can reveal another across the street. Or the on-line history of one church links it with another by the same architect or for the same denomination in a community just down the road. This time it is sheer coincidence that there are three churches (Methodist, Presbyterian and Christian) in a small Illinois town being offered simultaneously by three different sellers. What are the odds?

Stylistically diverse — two of them have crenelated corner entry towers — each holds promise for actually belonging in the database.

Neoga, by the way, is about sixty miles south of Champaign-Urbana (if that helps). As a resident of Cook County, I have to admit that “downstate” refers to ANY community in the state outside the Chicago metropolitan area.

UPDATE [19Dec2017]: Neoga’s Christian church has been replaced.
