24th Ward Chapel, SLC, UT

February 14, 2017

A wordpress blog devoted to LDS architecture identifies this as the Twenty-fourth Ward Chapel in Salt Lake City, built in 1907 and currently vacant. LDS church services differ c0nsiderably from other Protestant types, so I can’t even guess at the interior configuration. What does interest me is the block on the right and what appears to be a semi-circular element on the left. Christian Scientists adopted the Akron Plan; why not the Mormons.

SLC street address are equally unusual: this building is located at 700 N 200 W. Yes, that’s an address.
