Lutheran Church, Clermont, IA
Clermont is one of those town google has given only a pass-through survey, so its one-block distance from the main street doesn’t allow much visual investigation. The church website mentions the Sunday school meeting in the church basement in 1915 and the few interiors of the auditorium show little opportunity for an adjacent S.S. space. I post it here, then, simply because of the rarity of an auditorium sanctuary in a Lutheran church. One wonders if it had been an English, German, or Scandinavian synod; Scandinavians avoided radial seating like the plague in preference for a longitudinal-liturgical plan.
