New York Avenue Methodist Episcopal Church, Brooklyn, NY

March 24, 2017

The Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn is rich with places of worship, many of the examples in one way or another of the A-A church type. Union Methodist Church (the current congregation occupying this building) has been featured in The Brownstoner website, including both informative text and interior photographs. The Akron Plan Sunday school is still largely in place.

The architect in 1891 was J. Cleveland Cady, who worked often and well in the Richardsonian idiom.
