First Baptist Church, Winnipeg, MB

March 25, 2017

First Baptist in Winnipeg, Manitoba was built in two phases: Phase 1 in 1893 was built from the design of architect Hugh McCowan; Phase 2 in 1904 practically doubled the auditorium capacity — the interior of which I have yet to locate an image. Then all hell broke loose as the building was acquired by the Pentecostal denomination and in 1975 they destroyed the original church for their own new building but kept the bell tower as a “feature” of their new image. You be the judge.
