Olivet Presbyterian Church, Atlantic City, NJ

March 26, 2017

Atlantic City may be an extreme example but the recent economic decline has had a major impact on its churches. Olivet Presbyterian was built during 1896-1898 but closed in the mid-1970s and became a discotheque and was demolished a few years later. The architect of this nicely proportioned composition was E. P. Stout.

My parents married at that church in 1956. We attended the church until we moved away in 1964. I WENT to the disco once, it made me sad.
