German Baptist Church, Los Angeles, CA

July 10, 2017

This image is all I’ve been able to find on the history of the German Baptist church in Los Angeles. the entry portico seems to be the only portion of the building made of masonry, or perhaps veneered with it. No doubt the city’s rapid growth during the early 20th century swept frame buildings like this in the way of progress.

The auxiliary entrance at the right corner is pretty standard, but the one at the left, twisted at a 45° angle peaks my curiosity.
