Presbyterian Church, Devils Lake, ND

July 28, 2017

My knee-jerk reaction to the question “Are there many A-A church in North Dakota” would have been there are very few. I knew one in Fargo (First UMC) and one in Grand Forks (First Presbyterian) but no others came immediately to mind. In the last few years, I’ve been surprised how many there are/were in a state so thickly populated with Roman Catholics and Lutherans, neither of whom embraced the A-A.

Devils Lake is in the north central part of the state, an important stop on the Great Northern and the Ramsey county seat, so it has historically been prosperous. Some of that confidence is reflected in this Presbyterian church by local architect Joseph A. Shannon. Sadly, I’ve never been in it. I need to fix that.
