German Lutheran Church, Los Angeles, CA

July 30, 2017

I place Lutheran churches here with trepidation. Most Lutherans were of a liturgical persuasion and disinclined to the A-A. But this charming New England transplant — Easterners brought a good deal of that with them in the Great Migration to Southern California — but it didn’t last very long. Population growth swept most of these buildings aside in the March of Progress. Sorry for so many capital letters. I’d place this building, from style alone to about 1890.

The unidentified architects were also likely transplants from the East.
