Presbyterian Church, Kennett, MO

August 17, 2017

Kennett, Missouri seems to have at least three A-A candidates: Presbyterian, Methodist and Baptist. The Christian church is also interesting.

First Presbyterian was built after 1914, replacing an earlier structure. The architects were W. A. Cann & Co., of St. Louis, a name that has already appeared in the database. As you can intuit from this exterior and the interior below, the axial entry is at right angles to the actual axis of seating in the auditorium, the exterior clue being that polygonal bulge on the left. The Sunday school lies beyond, probably opening on the parents’ right side.
