Second Christian Reform Church, Fremont, MI

January 10, 2018

J. H. Daverman, an architect of Grand Rapids, Michigan, conducted an extensive mail order business at the turn of the 20th century. It consisted mostly of houses but also included churches, most of them, as I recall, for the Reform tradition. This building is probably not by Daverman — it’s too late, I suspect — but it did remind me of Daverman and the high concentration of Dutch Reform congregations in the state. Second Christian Reform seems to ahve relocated to the edge of the city.
